The EFTA-Jordan FTA has been operational since 2002. The Joint Committee adopted three decisions updating the FTA in the area of trade in goods and agreed to examine the possibility of extending the scope of the FTA to trade in services. Follow-up work is also foreseen with respect to agricultural products and rules of origin.
The Jordanian delegation was headed by Ms Maha Ali, Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, while Ambassador Kristinn Árnason from Iceland acted as EFTA spokesperson. The Joint Committee was preceded by meetings of experts on customs and origin matters and on agriculture.
